About COUNSELLING

Counselling is an individual process, with no pre-prepared agenda, or a set template.  The uniqueness of you, and of our relationship in counselling will determine what it looks like, and in which direction the journey will go.

I believe in the guiding principals of the person-centred approach; I work with the person as a whole; encounter you with no preconceptions, and prize and value you, to hopefully help you make sense of your feelings and emotions.

I have experience of working with a number of issues in counselling, including:

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • Stress

  • Loss and Bereavement

  • Trauma

  • Relationships

  • Self-esteem and self worth

Confidentiality

Everything you bring to counselling is confidential.  I would not share any details about you or the counselling sessions, unless I was significantly concerned about a risk of possible harm to yourself or others.  Full details of exceptions to confidentiality are outlined in my counselling agreement.

Also, any personal data I hold about you, including phone numbers, is stored securely, and in accordance with the ICO, with whom I am registered.

How does it work?

I currently work with individual adults, in person, by video, or telephone.
In person sessions would take place in Musselburgh, East Lothian.  (Please contact me for more details).

Pricing

Sessions are £40 - £45 for a 1 hour session.

I offer a free initial telephone session of up to 30 minutes to 'meet' me and to talk about what you are looking for from counselling.

Number and frequency of sessions

Sessions are usually weekly on the same day and time.

The number of sessions you might need varies, and would be discussed together to find what's best for you.

If you have any questions that are not covered in this website, please contact me at tomgraysoncounselling@gmail.com

As an ally, I offer a safe space in counselling for people from the LGBT+ and BME communities.
