About Me

I am a qualified, person-centred counsellor working in Edinburgh and East Lothian, Scotland.

I believe in the uniqueness of every person.  I believe that each of us needs to be treated like, and valued as an individual in order for us to grow and flourish.  You are the expert on you; and in an equal, honest and respectful relationship in counselling, I believe we can begin to see glimpses of our own true value, difficult thoughts and feelings can become clearer, we can get in touch with our own core values, and we can regain control of ourselves and our lives, and find greater happiness.

I hope to provide the conditions for you to take these steps, in a genuine and non-judgmental relationship, and I hope to respond to you in your wholeness as a person.

"It is the client who knows what hurts, what directions to go, what problems are crucial" - Carl Rodgers

"In a world of mouths, I just want to be an ear" - Jens Lekman

I have specific experience and specialisms in working with loss and bereavement, trauma, and neurodivergence (ADHD and Autism and more), and a range of other areas. I work in a neuro-affirmative way, apadating my practice to your individual needs, and have supported people in their own personal explorations of their neurodiversity.

I am an LGBT+ ally, and provide a safe space in counselling for all LGBT+ individuals, practicing active allyship in my work and wider life.

I work with anyone 18+, and can offer counselling either in person, by video call, or telephone. I can offer regular, weekly sessions, but will be flexible to support your individual needs and requirements.

As well as being a counsellor, I have worked in a mental health charity in a managerial role.
